The Koenigsegg CCX is a high-performance sports car made by Swedish manufacturer Koenigsegg Automotive AB. Produced between 2006 and 2010, only 49 of these cars were made. The CCX name stands for Competition Coupé X, with the X symbolizing the 10th anniversary of the completion and test drive of the first CC prototype.

The CCX made its debut at the 2006 Geneva Motor Show and was fitted with a 4.7L twin-supercharged V8 engine, developed in-house by Koenigsegg, that generated 817 PS (601 kW) at 7,000 rpm and 920 N⋅m (679 lb⋅ft) of torque at 5,500 rpm. The engine is made of 356 aluminium with a T7 heat treatment and was built and assembled by Grainger & Worrall, a casting specialist with experience in F1 drivetrain components. The CCX is powered by a torque-sensitive limited slip differential and was available with either a CIMA 6-speed manual or a 6-speed sequential manual transmission.

The car features a carbon fiber reinforced body with kevlar and aluminum honeycomb, a targa top body style, dihedral synchro-helix actuation doors, and a drag coefficient of Cd=0.32. It has a frontal area of 2,894 sq in and can generate 60 kg of downforce over the front axle and 65 kg over the rear at 200 km/h.

Optional equipment for the CCX included carbon fiber wheels, which were lighter than the standard forged alloy wheels, and rear spoiler to improve downforce. The CCX was tested by Top Gear and completed a lap with a time of 1:17.6, which was the fastest at the time until it was beaten by the Ascari A10.

The Koenigsegg CCX was produced in several variations during its production run from 2006 to 2010. Some of the variations include:

  1. CCX – The original version of the car.
    -Engine: 4.7-liter V8
    -Power: 806 horsepower
    -Torque: 678 lb-ft
    -Top Speed: 245 mph
    -Acceleration 0-60 mph: 3.2 seconds
    -Weight: 2,932 lbs
  2. CCXR – A more powerful version of the CCX that was powered by a 4.8-liter twin-supercharged V8 engine.
    – Engine: 4.8-liter twin-supercharged V8 engine
    – Horsepower: 1,004 horsepower
    – Torque: 797 lb-ft
    – 0-60 mph acceleration: 2.5 seconds
    – Top speed: 261 mph
    – Transmission: 6-speed manual or paddle-shift gearbox
    – Weight: 2,932 lbs

In addition to its impressive performance specs, the CCXR also features a carbon fiber body, advanced aerodynamics, and a customizable interior. It was also one of the first production cars to run on biofuel (E85 ethanol), which provides a cleaner burn and increased engine efficiency.
  3. CCX/CCXR Edition – A limited edition version of the car that featured exclusive features and enhancements over the standard CCX. The Edition models of the CCX are optimized for track performance with features such as stiffer suspension, lowered chassis, a carbon fiber body, 11-spoke aluminum wheels, and aerodynamic elements like a larger front splitter and rear wing, generating 350 kg of downforce at 250 km/h. The interior is also upgraded with color-matched leather carpets, Koenigsegg Edition side plates, and a specialized instrument cluster.
  4. CCXR Special Edition – Koenigsegg built 2 CCXR Special Editions that are upgraded from the old CCXR Editions. They come with a double F1 wing and a modified aero kit with a distinctive larger front splitter and side winglets. The car also has wheel vents on top of the body and features Koenigsegg’s first F1 Paddleshift system.
  5. CCXR Trevita – A unique version of the CCXR that featured a diamond weave carbon fiber finish, making it one of the most exclusive and valuable cars produced by Koenigsegg.
